Join noted nature photographer John J. Lopinot for a three-day zoo photography workshop at the Palm Beach Zoo! This workshop is designed to make you a better photographer by teaching you new techniques and how to "see" photographs as you move through the zoo. You will learn how to "make" great wildlife photographs at the zoo rather than "take" photographs in the course of this workshop consisting of presentations, assignments, a field trip and a critique. You will get close up and personal with many of the animals at the Zoo where you will be able to photograph behind the scenes. The cost of the workshop is $200.00 and is a fundraiser for the Palm Beach Zoo and will include breakfast in the Baum Conference Room both days and lunch at the Tropics Cafe during your field trip day.

7:30 p.m. The Museum will host a special evening lecture in Whitehall's Grand Ballroom with Dr. Laurie Ossman and Heather P. Ewing who have co-authored Carrère & Hastings: The Master Works. Their newly released book is the definitive volume on the celebrated architects of the Gilded Age, John Carrère and Thomas Hastings. Ossman and Ewing will discuss the architect's legendary partnership which designed Beaux-Arts masterpieces such as Whitehall, the New York Public Library, the Ponce de Leon Hotel in St. Augustine, and the Henry Clay Frick home in New York, among many others. Carrère & Hastings designed commercial buildings, elaborate residences, and prominent public structures in New York, Washington, London, Paris, Rome, and Havana between 1895 and 1924.

Chris Brubeck first distinguished himself as a jazz musician performing and recording with his father, the legendary Dave Brubeck. Chris plays bass, trombone, piano, guitar and sings. He has earned international acclaim as composer, performer and leader of his own groups. Triple Play is his acoustic blues/jazz/folk trio, with vocals that include guitarist Joel Brown and harmonica virtuoso Peter Madcat Ruth.

Robert Orr is the former President of Boeing Japan and former Vice President of Motorola's European Affairs Division. At Motorola, he also served as Vice President and Director of Government Relations. Most recently, he was appointed by President Obama as the U.S. Ambassador to the Manila-based Asian Development Bank. Skip lived in Japan for many years and also lists student, professor and political advisor to his activities. He has local ties to the South Florida area and graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 1976. He received his Master's degree from Georgetown University and his doctorate in Political Science from Tokyo University.
